BAINES’ CAMP
Set amongst the shady trees and water of the Okavango Delta, the small and intimate Baines' Camp features five luxurious suites set on elevated platforms in the tree line. Wooden decks offer expansive views over the permanent water of the Boro River and a lagoon teeming with life. The elevated suites feature a spacious bedroom , with softly draped fabrics adding the romantic touch of a bygone era. The four-poster beds are fully mobile, giving guests the choice of slumber under star laden skies. Avid astronomers will delight in stargazing from the privacy of their own deck.

This exclusive lodge is named after the famed nineteenth century explorer and artist, Thomas Baines. The main area features an oversize deck for outdoor dining and views over the permanent water of the lagoon, as well as a swimming pool for refreshing sunbathing.

This area, situated on a private concession neighbouring the Moremi, is superb for viewing all animal and bird species. Guests may explore by land and water, often into the night to discover nocturnal species. The permanent water of the camp will reveal a world of floating safaris, atmospherically silent at the gentle pace of a poled mokoro, or faster in a comfortable shaded motorboat. (Subject to water levels.) A myriad of waterways, feathery beds of papyrus, and animal species, large and small, are waiting to be discovered. Sometimes there is no better way to tune into the bush than on foot, and walking safaris is a speciality at Baines', with skilled, armed guides introducing the area’s natural wonders. The choice of activities will not end there. The unique and educational elephant interaction is available to guests at Baines’.
DELTA CAMP
Delta Camp, situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta, has offered understated luxury combined with personal service to a discerning clientele for over 30 years. The lounge and dining area form the central feature of the camp, with an extended deck offering spectacular views of the surrounding waterways and wildlife. The chalets, set into the indigenous island forest, are traditionally reeded, tastefully appointed and are en-suite with limitless hot and cold running water.

Activities are conducted by your own professional guide (a maximum of two guests per guide), a man of the swamp, born and bred. He has a mokoro (dug-out canoe) in which he will take you to nearby islands, where you will walk to view game and the spectacular landscape that is the Okavango. It might also be possible to visit his village, meet the elders and perhaps his family, should you so wish.
KUBU LODGE
Kubu Lodge overlooks the Chobe River in the north-eastern corner of Botswana, 2km from the historic meeting place of four countries Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe, only 9km from the Chobe National Park.
On the doorstep of the world famous Chobe National Park, and only an hour away from the mighty Victoria Falls. Kubu Lodge is an ideal place from which to explore this fascinating region.

Kubu Lodge has eleven charming thatched rustic en-suite wooden chalets, a swimming pool, and restaurant, bar, curio shop and 2km long nature trail with tree house. Each thatched chalet is raised on stilts with its own private terrace affording a wonderful birds-eye view of the riverine area and spacious park like gardens, a bird lover's delight. The principle guest amenities are located on the larger island whilst the guest’s chalets are situated on the smaller island overlooking the river towards the game reserve on the southern bank. The up-market yet delightfully African dining room and lounge offer an unique experience of perfect contemporary comfort in a truly African setting. The fully stocked bar will cater for your every need. An ideal place to relax and enjoy an afternoon refresher in the shade of thick riverine forest canopy that surrounds the secluded sparkling swimming pool. Afternoon tea is served daily on the main lodge decking, and allows the lodge's chef to tempt the pallate with some of his masterful delights. The decking area also allows one to enjoy unparallelled views of the mighty Zambezi River drifting by.
Honeymooners are amply catered for with secluded candle lit dining areas
The chalets have been uniquely designed following definitive market research into traveller's needs, encompassing a range of twin or double bedded options. They are constructed of teak and custom made canvas tenting and are raised well above ground level into the tree canopy with their balconies extending out over the river. They are linked by a winding over-head walkway so that our guests do not actually walk on the islands surface in order to protect the fragile riverine environment. Finishing is of an extremely high standard using imported fittings to compliment the natural feel of the construction materials used. All chalets are opulently finished and equipped with en-suite bathrooms, (ball and claw baths and separate shower), mini bar, large mosquito nets, ceiling fan and private safe. contact Jody@dumelabotswana.com

Our first night of camping bring us to the banks of the Chobe River, where we can see the animals come to drink water during the night.
Day 3 and 4: Savuti Overland. (Tented Camp)
We continue our explorations of the Chobe National Park, entering the area known as Savuti.
